Prime Minister Edi Rama has underlined on Saturday that the European Union needs the Western Balkans as much as the region needs the union. 

During his speech, using ironic tones, Rama stated that Austria is the best place to recover from the depressing meetings in Brussels. 

However, the Head of Albanian government released these statements in Austria, at the European Wachau Forum where the preservation of Europe's future and EU Enlargement was discussed. 

"This seems to me the perfect place to discuss Europe and the Western Balkans. At this kind of intersection where some of the stairs go up and we are in the middle. We can raise each other, but we can also lower it. Some people may understand it well, while some others will need more motivation to understand it. 

The EU needs the Balkans as much as the Balkans need the EU. It is not a good idea to invite someone from the Balkans and let him sit down, as it may take a long time to hear him speak. There is no better place than Austria to recover from the depressing meetings in Brussels", proclaimed Rama.
