Gjirokastra police have cracked down a case of providing assistance for illegal border crossing to 21 illegal immigrants, arresting two citizens in the process.

Citizens Senet Goxhaj and Edmir Balla have been handcuffed, as well as two vehicles and two mobile phones were seized.

“From the services of the Local Directorate of Border and Migration Gjirokastra, in cooperation with the Section for Investigation of Trafficking in Gjirokastra and the services of FRONTEX, were arrested in flagrante delicto the citizens S.G., 31 years old, resident in Gjirokastra and E.B., 44 years old, resident in Tepelena.

Citizens S. G. and E. B., were caught on the road axis Pogon-Zagorie, transporting with vehicles type "Suzuki" and "Mitsubishi", 21 illegal immigrants from third countries, in the direction of Tirana, in exchange for profit.

Two vehicles and two mobile phones were seized as material evidence. The materials in charge of the above citizens were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance Gjirokastra, for further actions,” the police inform.
