14 Detained for Traffic Violations during Police Controls

The police inform that 14 drivers have been arrested in the last 24 hours for traffic violations after they were found speeding or drunk.

Traffic police reports that during this time 2234 fines have been imposed and 44 patents have been suspended; 37 of the drivers whose license was blocked were moving fast beyond the norms while 7 of them were in a drunken state.

Meanwhile, it is reported that some violations have been avoided which could pose a risk to the lives of citizens.

“Intensive controls on all interurban roads and in residential centers, to identify and punish violators of the Road Code, in order to prevent road accidents and increase road safety parameters.

During the controls in the last 24 hours, by the Traffic Police of Tirana, in the Blue Boulevard, in Kamza, it was ascertained the citizen R.M., driving a vehicle type "Benz" with a speed of 109 km / h, while from the Operational Unit of the Traffic Police, on the road urban Fier-Vlora, was found citizen A.H., from Vlora, driving a vehicle type "BMW" with a speed of 189 km / hour.

Thanks to the calls of the citizens, the Traffic Police of Tirana and the Traffic Police of Fier have made possible the prevention of three possible road events with consequences for life.

Also, 14 drivers were arrested in flagrante delicto, of which 4 for driving while intoxicated and 10 for driving without a driving license.

A total of 44 driving licenses have been suspended, of which 37 for driving at speeds beyond the allowed norms and 7 for driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated,” it is stated in the announcement, among other things.
