Agricultural Exports Increased compared to 2013; Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama says that the level of agricultural exports in the country has increased compared to 2013. In the presentation of the 2022 budget for agriculture, Rama said that the increase in exports shows the improvement of trade capacity in the country.

He also has a call for all critics who say that agriculture has ended, Rama says that these people do not know what they are talking about, because according to him, the figures speak differently.

"Today we have an increase in agricultural exports compared to a few years ago. To those who comment on Facebook that agriculture is over, I tell you that you are out. You do not know what you are talking about.

It is enough to look at the facts, we look at exports. The annual growth of exports shows clearly that exports increase as production increases. The country's trade capacity is growing. It is enough to see the land being worked. In 2013, 120 thousand hectares were cultivated, while today 250 thousand hectares are cultivated. How and why do we work so hard? Because we have invested heavily in 230 thousand hectares.

Why was the land not cultivated until a few years ago? Because there was neither water nor drainage. Dams, left to the mercy of fate. Today we are in conditions when we have 40 rehabilitated dams. 80 km of protected embankments rehabilitated. The fund in agriculture for 2022 will be incomparable with that of 2021, and no longer with those of a few years ago. It is required to properly conceive the project on how the money will be spent "- said Rama.
