Albanian Institute of Sciences (AIS) has filed an administrative report at the Central Elections Commission (CEC) for misuse of public assets and money in the territory of the Municipality of Durrës in the framework of the election campaign and the April 2 elections.

According to the Institute, the abuse went in the favor of the ruling Socialist Party (SP) at central and local governance institutions.

Also in detail, the Albanian Institute of Sciences says that 16 months after the earthquake, the Municipality of Durrës was given 946.44 million ALL during the election campaign without a DCM.

Furthermore, it is noted that the Ministry of Reconstruction has delayed benefits for 16 months as it has paid individuals who are not eligible for economic benefit.

Durrës Municipality has taken several actions in the framework of Reconstruction by approving the lists of previously unidentified beneficiaries and the week before April 25, but it has paid three times more than every other month after the earthquake of November 26, 2019, as far as the AIS is concerned.

“The object of the administrative denunciation is: Misuse of Public Money in the territory of the Municipality of Durrës, for favoring the electoral subject of the ruling political force (central and local) the Socialist Party, carried out by the Council of Ministers and the Local Government of Durrës, through concentrated chain actions on the dates of the Election Campaign”, it is stated in the lawsuit.
