Albania, 25-34, 45-34 Age Groups Comprise 40% of Cases of Covid-19

Health expert Eugena Tomini said that a very high percentage of new cases are young people, thus this age group need to be more careful in respect the coronavirus measures that have been approved. 

“The 45-54 and 25-34 age groups comprise the highest percentage of confirmed coronavirus cases. This is not reflected only in the hospitalizations but also in the cases with mild symptoms that family doctors are keeping under control. Each of the abovementioned age groups comprise of 20% of COVID-19 cases,” she stressed out. ISHP representative added that COVID-19 has shown atypia, aggressivity and high transmissibility unlike other respiratory viruses during similar climate conditions.

Currently in Albania there are 2,520 active coronavirus cases and their geographical distribution is as follows: Tirana has 1,404 cases, Durres has 302, Shkodra 231, Fier 103, Vlora 94, Lezha 87, Korca 82, Kukes 74, Elbasan 54, Berat 33, Dibra 31 and Gjirokastra 25.
