Albania Marks COVID-19 Death amid Increased Infections

Virus outbreak figures have turned out quite negative for Albania these last 24 hours, as a 73-year-old citizen from Tirana has passed away and 8 people have resulted positive with the disease, the Ministry of Health has informed Tuesday.

Released data revealed that the 8 infections were confirmed after 3375 tests, according to which Tirana with Kuçova had 2 cases each, while Shkodra, Durrës, Lezha and Has had 1 case each.

Good news is the fact that 14 citizens have recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of recovered to 129,879 since the beginning of the epidemic.

Meanwhile, Albania has 136 actively ill with the coronavirus, 19 of whom are receiving hospital treatment and 5 patients are in intensive therapy.

Despite the improved situation the Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to the citizens to continue to strictly apply the rules for the prevention of COVID-19. It also called on the people to put the protective mask in any closed environment and wherever physical distance cannot be maintained, take care of personal hygiene and isolate yourself when you suspect you are affected by COVID-19.
