Albania Ready to Negotiate EU Accession Deal; Socialist Balla

Head of Socialist Party (SP) Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla has emphasized Sunday that Albania is ready to negotiate the agreement for membership to the European Union, on the Europe Day.

According to the Socialist, this is the second-last station to the path of “re-union” with Europe, which started 30 years ago under the “We want Albania like the whole of Europe” calls that “demolished” the communist regime.

Moreover, Balla brought to attention the phrases by the Albanian author Ismail Kadare, who has said that “Europe, for several centuries in a row became so foreign to the Balkan Peninsula and Albania, that it seemed as if a tectonic rift had occurred. In fact, Albania did not move anywhere either, much less Europe did. But the inner mental and spiritual distance was such that it led to the creation of a paradox”.

“Happy Europe Day! ‘Europe, for several centuries in a row became so foreign to the Balkan Peninsula and Albania, that it seemed as if a tectonic rift had occurred. In fact, Albania did not move anywhere either, much less Europe did. But the inner mental and spiritual distance was such that it led to the creation of a paradox’, says our great writer Ismail Kadare.

This is a paradox that already belongs to history, while Albania today is ready to negotiate the Accession Agreement to the European Union, the penultimate station on our long road to reunification with Europe, which started 3 decades ago, when under the calls ‘We want Albania like all of Europe’, we overthrew the most brutal communist regime the old continent had ever known”, marked the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group’s Head.
