Albania Receives Over 7000 Anti-COVID Jabs, More to Come in April

Albania has acquired Monday 7.020 doses of the Pfizer vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, but another guarantee is at hand from a friend country to bring 360.000 AstraZeneca injections in April, as Prime Minister Edi Rama informed on Monday.

The Head of Government released this information as he had gone to the Rinas airport to await the 7.020 jabs, where he also vowed that work will be done to get the promised doses during March.

However, the agreement of the AstraZeneca cures has not been signed, but it is expected that soon there will be a meeting with this state at the level of senior officials.

"Initially, 1170 doses came, today 7020 doses and according to the new schedule given by the company after the blockade throughout Europe we will continue in the coming weeks to conclude within March all those promised doses and to continue in April and May.

It is important to explain to the citizens who are looking forward to the vaccine, that in the meantime we are in communication to achieve a communication with AstraZeneca, in some directions, in addition to the companies and other countries. A friendly country confirmed in writing the giving of the 360.000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

They will start to be disbursed in April, but I am giving it as info without wanting to confirm anything until we have signed and sealed the agreement. Confirmation is the result of very intense communication. I hope to have a high level contact with the government of this state and then everything will be public, not a secret contact", said the Prime Minister.
