Albania's Good Relations with Estonia Highlighted on Latter's Independence Day

Speaker of Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi congratulates the Estonian Parliament Speaker Henn Põlluaas on Independence Day.

Ruçi sent a congratulatory letter on this occasion to Polluaas, expressing gratitude for the support for the opening of negotiations of Albania, as well as for the continued support for Kosovo and its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

"On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia, on behalf of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania and my personal name, I convey my heartfelt congratulations.

The proclamation on February 23, 1918, of the Manifesto of All Citizens and its publication on February 24 marked the founding of the independent and democratic republic of Estonia. These two days are marked events of historical importance for the Estonian people and their future.

Estonia is a friendly country and partner of Albania in NATO as well as a strong supporter of our European integration, a prominent contributor to the decision of the European Council of 25 March 2020 for the opening of negotiations and assistance in this process.

The Memorandum of Understanding for European Integration between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of our two countries, signed in October 2019, is an indicator of this contribution. Albania is also grateful to Estonia for its continued support of Kosovo and its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

I express the conviction that the Assembly of the Republic of Albania and the Riigikog of the Republic of Estonia will continue to contribute to the strengthening of the relations and cooperation between the two countries and our two peoples ", writes Ruçi.
