Albania to Host W. Balkans Leaders’ Summit on June 10

Albania will host this year the Summit of Western Balkan Leaders on June 10 in Tirana, while the last time the Summit took place in Sofia, Bulgaria.

According to the information at hand, Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, together with the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, will will be the ones to chair the Summit.

During the conference, the 6 leaders of the Western Balkan countries will discuss the projects that their homelands benefit from the Berlin process.

However, this year is important for two of the Western Balkan countries such as Albania and North Macedonia, which are awaiting the first intergovernmental conference to mark the opening of negotiations for accession into the European Union.
