Albanian Students to Return in Classrooms in September

Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu has emphasized this Friday that the goal is to start the new school year in September in classrooms, putting an end to students' dreams to return to school this year.

Half a million Albanians will be vaccinated within the month of May, the Minister repeated, adding that the pandemic has shown that the situation is always unpredictable.

"The pandemic has taught us that the situation is always unpredictable. But today we know that with the launch of the mass vaccination campaign, of teachers, of employees in critical services, a relief is expected for the coming months, of course then for the start of schools in September. So, why not be hopeful even for the start of schools in September by always assessing the situation and listening to the experts about the protocols.

Let's not forget that we went through a difficult period, but we did it because the schools and the whole community respected the rules. Our objective is to open universities and teach in the auditorium, but this remains in the assessment and we should be a little conservative when talking about the pandemic, although the light at the end of the tunnel has become visible", said Manastirliu.
