Albanian Workers Clash with Police at Border with Montenegro

Dozens of citizens from Albania were not allowed to enter Montenegro this Tuesday morning. It is about citizens who work in the neighboring country.

They are blocked due to problems with documents and the vaccination certificate at the Hani i Hotit Border Crossing Point and are not allowed to cross to the other side, while there were also clashes between them and the police.

"Our problem is that today we can not cross due to the rules. We have done the vaccine, but they do not accept us. I made Pfizer. They told us that they should also have a personal code," a citizen stated.

As of today, September 14, the new measures imposed by the authorities of the Montenegrin state have entered into force. All foreign nationals to travel to Montenegro must have:

-A certificate proving that 14 days have passed since vaccination with both doses.

-A Covid-19 negative PCR test not older than 72 hours, or a positive PCR test of which at least 14 days have elapsed but not more than 180 days;

-The negative antigen test, not older than 48 hours;

Those who do not comply with the above measures should be quarantined. They can leave quarantine after a negative PCR test, after the sixth day of border crossing.
