US Ambassador Yuri Kim held a meeting this Thursday with the OSCE Ambassador in Tirana, Del Monaco. Through a social media post, Ambassador Kim writes that she supports the extension of the mandate of the vetting bodies. 

Among other things, the US Ambassador urges the parties to act in accordance with the OSCE / ODIHR recommendations. 

"I met with the OSCE Ambassador to Albania Del Monaco today to discuss a number of issues. We agreed that, in line with the IOM recommendation, Parliament should adopt constitutional reform to extend the vetting mandate. 

We also agree that the authorities and the parties should act in accordance with the OSCE / ODIHR recommendations on elections," wrote Ambassador Kim.
