Mikel Alia was sentenced to 21 years and 4 months in prison for the murderer of 34-year-old Eri Zefi, an event that occurred on October 2, 2019, in the village of Zall-Xhuxhe of the Fani Administrative Unit in Mirdita.

He is accused of ambushing his childhood friend to execute him. The 42-year-old was found guilty of the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder" and "Illegal Possession of a Weapon".

The trial panel gave the maximum sentence for Mikel Gjovalin Aline to 32 years in prison, two years more than the prosecution had requested, but since he benefited from the shortened trial, the sentence was reduced to 21 years of imprisonment.

The murder took place on the night of October 1, 2019, exactly at the place where the body of the victim was found in a canal 50 meters away from the National Road.
