Several people were accompanied by the Vlora police during an operation carried out this Tuesday afternoon in the framework of cracking down on illegal gambling.

Checks have been performed in premises suspected of being frequented by persons with a criminal record. The action is still ongoing as controls are extended to several different points of the city, as reported.

Nevertheless, the identity of the persons accompanied by the blue uniforms has been kep confidential for the time being.

On Monday, numerous forces RENEA and FNSH landed in Lungomare of Vlora, where Edison Begaj and another were handcuffed, and at least 10 people were remanded into custody. The arrested persons were armed, while their past was related to the world of crime.
