Police have arrested three people in connection with the bank robbery that took place three weeks ago in Koplik. Bekim Gurraj, 22 years old, Armir Shabaj, 25 years old and Admir Shabaj, 19 years old, resident in Aliaj, Malësi e Madhe, were handcuffed. 

According to the police, they robbed an amount of money under the threat of a gun and then escaped with their Golf 3 vehicle. On the way, the perpetrators decided to burn their vehicle and robbed another vehicle on the road to lose track while chasing the police. They threw into the water the weapons they had used during the robbery, and then fled quickly towards the village of Shegan. 

"In connection with the event that occurred on 09.05.2022, in Koplik, Malësi e Madhe, where unidentified persons, through the threat of weapons and violence, received a significant amount of monetary values, in a bank, the Local Police Directorate of Shkodra, in close cooperation with the Shkodra District Prosecutor's Office, organized the work to uncover this event. 

In this context, the Local Police Directorate of Shkodra, under the direction of the prosecutor in the case, in cooperation with the Criminal Police Department and the FLO Directorate, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Eye of Shegan". 

As a result, the following citizens were arrested and detained: Bekim Gurraj, 22 years old, Armir Shabaj, 25 years old and Admir Shabaj, 19 years old, resident in Aliaj, Malësi e Madhe. 

The detention of these citizens was done because on 09.05.2022, around 14:10, these citizens, in cooperation with each other, under the threat of firearms, entered the branch of BKT, in Koplik, Malësi e Large and have received considerable monetary value. 

From the investigative actions carried out, it is documented with legal evidence that the above-mentioned perpetrators, for committing criminal activity, used 2 firearms and a vehicle type "Golf 3", without license plates, which after the robbery, they abandoned and have burned at the place called "Bajza Roundabout", Koplik. 

After the burning of the vehicle, under the threat of weapons, they stopped the vehicle driven by the citizen T. L., from whom they took the vehicle by force and then left in the direction of Shegan village, Kastrat Administrative Unit, where they abandoned the vehicle. 

The same investigation showed that these citizens, after the event, threw their firearms into the water, in the place called "Syri i Sheganit", part of Shkodra Lake. The search by RENEA divers is currently underway, to make it possible to find them. So far, the divers have made it possible to find one of the firearms, namely a Kalashnikov firearm. 

During the operation, from the control of the apartments of the above-mentioned citizens, were found and seized as material evidence, namely: 

In the apartment of the citizen Bekim Gurraj were found two transmitting radios like those of Police, T-shirts and hats like Police and some clothes used by this person a few days before the event, when he studied the outside environment of the branch, in order to commit theft", it is said in the notification of the police.
