Basha Signs Agreement with Persons with Disabilities
Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has signed this Tuesday a cooperation agreement with Persons with Disabilities.
In his speech, the leader of the Democrats Basha said that this agreement is the product of a dialogue and negotiations of two years, which concretizes the commitments and commitments of the future government.
Basha said that this agreement guarantees the next government will take care of these people the same as any European government.
"The foundation of the agreement is not just a government, budget commitment, but it is: first of all, the establishment of the European standard which provides that in all important decisions that have to do with every sphere, with every aspect of life, challenges and expectations of persons with disabilities, consultation, coordination, co-decision-making and joint engagement in the implementation of the obligations arising from these decision-making, are the instrument that advances the just cause and the suffering, pain and expectations of persons with disabilities.
Today I will undertake this commitment on behalf of the Democratic Party, our coalition, the Alliance for Change and our entire coalition which on April 25 with the vote of the Albanians will take over the burden of governing. I want to remind you that the beginnings of our cooperation are much earlier. I want to remind you that if it comes to lobbying in the classical sense of the word, the first lobby and in fact the only lobby in which I have had the pride of being a founding member in my debut as a parliamentarian, as a member of parliament of Albania has been a lobby for people with disabilities. I understand this time because the position as a member of the majority and a member of the cabinet, brought the opportunity to help as much as possible, but also the not insignificant challenge in politics to oppose your party, your majority, or your government in especially in management positions when it seemed that decision-making was not in line with those standards and those commitments which would really help the just causes of people with disabilities," Basha said.
