Man Sentenced to Prison for Crush that Killed Two Polish Tourists

The court of Shkodra has imposed the security measure of arrest and imprisonment for 27-year-old David Gjonaj who fatally injured with his car the Polish couple a few days ago. 

The arrest of the young man was considered legal by the court, while the young man stated that everything happened out of negligence. 

A couple of tourists from Poland lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred on the Shkodra-Tirana axis near the village of Shkjeza, in the Bushat area. The victims, 47 and 42 years old, were traveling on a motorcycle in the direction of Tirana, when they suddenly collided with the vehicle type "GOLF 5" driven by the citizen David Gjonaj from Puka, 27 years old, who had rented the vehicle with which injured the Polish couple. 

Preliminary investigations show that this accident was caused by non-compliance with traffic rules. Shkodra Local Police informs that after the test it turned out that the driver of the vehicle did not consume alcohol, however he continues to be in the premises of Shkodra Police until the full clarification of the circumstances. 

Also, the Police is investigating for the full clarification of this serious accident that took the life of the couple from Poland.
