CEC’s Head Urges Albanian Youngsters to Vote
Head of Central Elections Commission (CEC), Ilirjan Celibashi has held Thursday a meeting with the U.S. Embassy Youth Council Albania, where the Commissioner talked about the Electoral Code changes and his institution’s monitoring tools for political parties during the elections.
The US Embassy in Tirana revealed that the Youth Council launched today its campaign against corruption, but also asked the Elections Commissioner questions about candidates’ verification and areas of engagement for youths of the country.
“The U.S. Embassy Youth Council Albania started their anti-corruption campaign with their Youth Talk series today featuring State Election Commissioner Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi as a guest speaker.
Mr. Celibashi talked about the amendments to the Electoral Code and the mechanisms the Central Election Commission (CEC) uses to monitor political parties during elections.
Youth Council members asked questions about the process of verifying candidates and areas of engagement for young people in the administration of the electoral process.
Mr. Celibashi encouraged the youth to vote and to be actively engaged citizensâ€, announced the Embassy on the social networks.
