Coronavirus, Over 800.000 Albanian Fully Vaccinated
So far over 900.00 people have received at least one dose of Covid vaccine in Albania, and over 800.000 have been fully vaccinated with both doses.
"The process is proceeding at a very satisfactory pace. We had an increase of applications during the month of September and this continues even now during the first month of October", said the Institute of Public Health specialist.
The first batch of vaccines, which arrived on January 9, was used to vaccinate at-risk groups, starting with the doctors, and then extending them to the elderly over 80, teachers and police officers. At the end of March, anti-Covid vaccination spread massively to the population.
April marks the highest number of vaccinations in Albania, with over 310.000. June marks the lowest figure of anti-Covid injections at approximately 160.000.
The focus of the health authorities is already the students, to continue with a normal learning process in the auditorium. Approximately 30% of the 18-30 age group has been vaccinated so far.
"During September we had an increase in the age group 18-30 years with first doses of 30%," says the IPH specialist. Authorities say they plan to vaccinate the entire population against Covid-19 by spring.
