Corruption at Tirana's Cemeteries, Court Decides for Eight Arrested

The Tirana court has decided this Friday the security measures for the eight arrested for corruption with graves in the capital. 

The jury left the director of Tufina cemetery in Tirana Municipality, Eljodor Ndini, in prison together with 4 other arrested. Court decided 'home arrest' for two and 'obligation to appear in court' for another.  

The court has decided: 

- Eljodor Ndini "arrest in prison" 

-Gazmend Daja "arrest in prison" 

- Bujar Lica "arrest in prison" 

-Alban Ajazi "arrest in prison" 

-Latif Shehu "arrest in prison" 

Endrin Milla "house arrest" 

-Fatjon Gjonaj "house arrest" 

- Xhemal Mena "obligation to appear in court" 

The corrupt scheme was discovered by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana and the Directorate of Economic Crime in the State Police. The arrested in cooperation with each other, taking advantage of the lack of land for graves in the cemeteries of Tufina and Sharra, in exchange for a reward in monetary amounts ranging from ALL 30,000 to 50,000, made it possible to sell the graves for different citizens.
