Covid-19 Pandemic, Greece Closes Borders with Albania, N.Macedonia, Turkey During Night

Greece land borders with Albania will be closed during night. The decision was taken this Thursday by the Greek Government as an additional measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus from the Balkans countries where new infections spike.

As it was announced, Greek government starting from Friday 23:00 pm to 07:00 am on Sunday will closes all its land borders except one in Promakona which is the only entrance for EU countries and those from the Western Balkans in Greece.

All other land borders, the one of Kapshtica in Albania and others that connect Greece with North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey will be closed.

Government's spokesperson informed that this measure was taken due to the high flow of movements to and from the Balkan countries amid pandemic.
