DP Accuses Govt of Attempting to Usurp Association of Municipalities
The Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, accused the Prime Minister Edi Rama of an illegal attempt to usurp the Association of Municipalities.
Tabakuhas reacted through a statement to the media regarding the meeting held on Tuesday by the Association of Municipalities, where it was elected Pjerin Ndreut as its head, thus dismissing Voltana Ademi from office.
She said the majority is aiming to withdraw from the lawsuit in the Constitutional Court for the local monist elections.
“With an unprecedented, unconstitutional, illegal, forged act, Edi Rama has opened war on the Association of Albanian Municipalities, led by the mayor of Shkodra, Voltana Ademi, the only legitimate mayor in the country. This association has sent to the Constitutional Court the issue of illegal local voting 2 years ago, endangering another power stolen by Edi Rama.
The decision of Rama's mercenaries for the so-called dismissal of Voltana Ademi as the head of the association has no legal basis. It is a party decision, but without legal consequences. The persons who have taken the decision are not members of the Association of Albanian Municipalities and have no right over it.
Only in Edi Rama's Albania can an association convene to dismiss the head of another association.
Public records show that all 60 Rama mercenaries in the country's municipalities are declared as members of the association created by Edi Rama since 2010 and today headed by Erion Veliaj. Consequently, they can gather to dismiss Erion Veliaj, head of their association, but they cannot decide to remove Voltana Ademi, for the sole reason that she is in opposition to Edi Rama and has led to the Constitutional Court monist elections years ago.
The failed attempt to usurp the Association of Albanian Municipalities comes after Edi Rama has usurped every other institution in the country. This is a completely anti-democratic and authoritarian attempt by a Prime Minister who is not interested in democracy, the functioning of institutions and their freedom. Rama's goal is to deprive citizens of their freedoms and enrich personally,†Tabaku concludes.
