DP Chair Reveals Opposition’s Priority on Albania’s EU Talks

Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha has declared Tuesday that priority of his political entity is for Albania to join the EU, and he vowed that accession negotiations would open in the first 100 days of his governance.

On a meeting with young people in Vil Bashtova of Kavaja, Basha stressed that the new government will have the face of young people and the most important thing is that there will be no more political divisions.

“April 25 will be the day of change and the victory of the Albanians. I am very proud that our representative team will generally give, with me at the helm, we have mothers, wives, like Grida Duma, Anduena Qefalia, because together we have a goal that unites us beyond politics.

The outgoing Prime Minister tried to divide the Albanians, but he could not. More than ever, the Socialists are joining the ranks that want change. Across the country, socialists are joining us because we are the change. The new government will not divide the Albanians in two, but will unite them.

I guarantee you that within the first 100 days, we will open negotiations. We will open them and I am glad that you expect this with optimism and confidence. When we were in Kavaja I said we would remove visas, this was not a reaction, the silence fell, some lowered their heads”, noted DP’s Chair.
