Democrats Concerned Over Stifling Business Climate in Albania
Former MP of Democratic Party (DP), Jorida Tabaku stressed this Sunday the business climate in Albania is "stifling", that's why Albanian businesses choose to invest abroad.
Tabaku goes further, informing that Albanian businesses have chosen North Macedonia, where they have invested EUR 1.3 billion.
Moreover, the former MP declared that DP's plan for elimination and reduction of 18 taxes and over 60 tariffs, 1 year moratorium for inspectorates as well as the facilitation of any bureaucratic procedure and the introduction of a flat tax of 9%, will turn Albania into a normal and very competitive country in order to reach higher investments in the region.
"Albanian businesses have invested EUR 1.3 billion outside Albania, and the overwhelming majority of this money have gone to neighboring North Macedonia. Not only do we not attract foreign investment but we also do not persuade local businesses to invest in Albania.
Thousands of new jobs in the North Macedonia from Albanian business investments, while the ranks of the unemployed in Albania are increasing daily. Why does this happen?
Because the outgoing Prime Minister has created the most stifling climate for Albanian employment, investment and entrepreneurship. Instead of helping the economy, the Rama Government has misused and stolen with corrupt PPPs a value as much as 13% of GDP, approximately as much as the lost investments in Albania," noted Tabaku.
