DP Urges C. Court to Examine Case on Head of Sciences' Academy
The Democratic Party has called on the Constitutional Court to consider the request for declaring the election and mandate of Skënder Gjinushi at the head of the Academy of Sciences incompatible with the Constitution.
In a speech to the media, DP MP Ina Zhupa, the Academy of Sciences is operating in an unconstitutional and illegal manner, seriously undermining the integrity and national importance it has for the country.
"The Academy of Sciences is operating in an unconstitutional and illegal manner, seriously undermining the integrity and national importance it has for the country.
Skender Gjinushi is preparing a way to give himself a second mandate by using the members of former cooperatives.
And any delay or obstacle in the consideration of the case in the Constitutional Court, is not a good sign and will naturally seem to be related to the preparations for the political and unconstitutional recapture of the CC.
Real science and academics need a breather, they don't need politics in their governing forums, they need a quick and fundamental decision-making by the Constitutional Court, as this frees them from the great political pressure they are under, alone and without any legal protection.
The constitutional court has an obligation to consider such issues without delay, and to react to give the country an academy that functions legally. We are waiting for the announcement of the public plenary session by the Constitutional Court, to free the Academy from the clutches of the ministers of the communist dictatorship," Zhupa said.
