EAP Accuses Premier of ‘Closing EU’s Open Door Again’

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi’s plea to wait Venice Commission’s opinion is clear proof that European Union welcomes Albania, but Prime Minister Edi Rama is closing again the EU door, emphasized Monday the Environmentalist Agrarian Party (EAP).

PM Rama’s anti-European permanent stances clearly indicate that he aims at obtaining absolute power, consequently preventing the European future of Albania and its citizens, as far as the Environmentalist Party is concerned.

In addition, the EAP pointed out that only arrogant and corruption-affected leaders do not let their countries to continue on the path of national priorities and that over 90% of Albanians want European integration to happen.

“Rama, with his arrogance, is closing EU’s open door again. The request of the European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi to the majority to wait for the opinion of Venice Commission before voting on president's decree on the constitutional changes is a clear proof that EU welcomes Albania in the EU.

EAP appeals that waiting for the opinion of Venice, respect by the majority of the request of the European Commissioner for Enlargement and any joint effort of all political and social factors to advance in the process of European integration can help Albania escape the stuck in the increasing poverty and take concrete state-building and democratization steps”, underlined the Agrarian Party.
