Escape of Albanians from Prison, 5 Police Officers Suspended

Five police officers in Greece have been put under investigation for the escape of 4 Albanians and 1 Pakistani from prison. They are accused of negligence, at the moment of the escape of 4 Albanians and Pakistanis.

Olis Thoma Prifti, 43, originally from Dropulli, is one of the people escaped from prison in Chania, Greece. Another has been identified with the initials Aardian Meta, 32, from Divjaka.

The third is known as D. F., 34 years old convicted for "drug trafficking" while the fourth Albanian is reported to be a 29-year-old Albanian known. The 5th fugitive is a Pakistani, convicted of killing three people.

How did they escape? The convicts were being transferred to another prison but took advantage of the case and escaped. The detainees had arrived in Chania after their transfer, by ferry from Piraeus, on the morning of Saturday, February 5th.

The 5 convicts had entered the toilet of the detention center and after cutting the bars from the window, they came out in the underground garage of the Police Commissariat. The absence of the five was noticed by the morning shift police officer in the standard count. The police also seized the van with which it is suspected that 5 fugitives left.
