FIFA to Exclude Russian National Team from World Cup

The Russian National Team will not participate in the 2022 World Cup and as a result, will not be part of the play-off matches in March. This is the decision that is expected to be formalized very soon by FIFA and UEFA after a meeting of about 4 hours of representatives of both organizations.

FIFA had warned of the possible exclusion of Russia during yesterday's communiqué, where it had taken the first measures against it. It had sought to see the international reaction once, and after everyone objected to her "petting" of Russia by changing its name and denying it the flag, it was practically forced to expel it.

Thus, Russia will not go down on the field against Poland in the play-off matches in March, while UEFA is also expected to jointly formalize the decision for Spartak Moscow to be excluded from this edition of the Europa League, where next week it had to face RB Leipzig.

It remains to be seen what decision will be made regarding the League of Nations, an activity where the Russian representative will face, among others, Albania. The Albanian government has decided in the meantime not to carry out any sports activity against the Russian federations and this includes that of football, as long as the military intervention in Ukraine continues.
