Police Supervision Agency (PSA) has suspended from duty two inspectors of the Qafë Thana Border Crossing Point and two customs officers in Pogradec, who were under investigation for the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity". 

PSA announced Tuesday that this suspension came following an operation against smuggling and abusive actions at the border points, in connection with which earlier 7 citizens were arrested in flagrantia. 

Following suspensions, the materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Pogradec for further action. 

"The Regional Directorate of PS Korçë has executed the criminal decision given by the Court of First Instance Pogradec for the appointment of the measure of personal insurance with a preventive character "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" in charge of: 

- Inspector A. H., 43 years old, with the duty of service corps in the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Korçë, stationed at the Border Crossing Point Qafë Thane, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid, or with suspension of full/partial, from customs or excise duties", "Smuggling with other goods", and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions". 

- Inspector F. M., 38 years old, with the duty of service corps in the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Korçë, stationed at the Border Crossing Point Qafë Thane, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid, or with suspension of full/partial, from customs or excise duties", "Smuggling with other goods". 

- Citizens under investigation V. B., 53 years old, with physical customs duties at the Pogradec Customs Branch, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity". 

- Citizens under investigation J. P., 45 years old, on duty as a customs officer of the scales at the Pogradec Customs Branch, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity". 

These citizens have been suspended within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 206, year 2022, of the Prosecutor's Office of the Pogradec Judicial District, referred and followed by PSA Korçë under the direction of this Prosecutor's Office during the "Dinaret" operation in the framework of the work against smuggling and abusive actions in border points, where earlier in connection with this procedure, 7 citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto, among them the above employees. 

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Pogradec Court of First Instance for further action.
