High Court Rejects Ervis Martinaj's Request
High Court dismissed this Thursday the appeal made by the much-wanted Ervis Martinaj regarding the incident in the former "Block", where his friend Fabiol Gaxha was killed and Eljon Hato and Martinaj himself were injured.
In the appeal, Martinaj contested the decision of the Court of Appeal of 2018 that left him in prison for the incident in the area of the former Block, but that he was released by the Court of Tirana on bail.
At the end of the process against him at that time, the charge of attempted murder was dropped, however he was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in prison with a shortened trial for "Providing conditions and means for murder", "Concealment of income" , "Forgery of passports, identity cards, visas", as well as "Organization or exercise of gambling activity in violation of the law".
Although he was released on bail at that time, Martinaj still claimed his innocence, that's why he turned to the Supreme Court, which rejected his request this Thursday.
On the other hand, a few days ago at the request of SPAK, 34 assets suspected of criminal activity were seized from Martinaj and his family, while the authorities still do not have an answer to his fate, although Prime Minister Edi Rama himself has asked the Director General Muhamet Rrumbullaku to find out what happened with Martinaj.
