Illegal Construction to Be Punished with 15 Years of Jail
Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi has underlined Friday that all those individuals or subjects who erect buildings without the relevant permission face a punishment of up to 15 years in prison as he guaranteed that nobody will be tolerated.
During a conversation with the leaders of the State Police, Çuçi spoke about the protection of the territory and stated that the police should be responsible for the territory, especially for illegal constructions, environmental crimes and crimes against forests.
In addition, he released a clear message to law-breakers, stressing that they should forget the Interior Minister's cell phone, no matter how rich or protected they are.
“The time has come for the Police to be considered an event in terms of establishing control over the territory. All the responsibility should fall on them and they will have it, as they actually have with the legal and organizational changes, and in reality the State Police. It must control every cm2 of the territory.
We must create permanent joint teams between the employee in charge of a territory and the inspector responsible for illegal construction, with the inspector for environmental protection and the inspector for forests. It should function as a single one.
As it works in relation to other crimes. I am taking the example of cannabis. Not only police officers, but also administrators have responsibilities.
The responsibility that so far has not emerged even a single case, starting that today the police will be responsible for any violations and violations of the territory, for illegal construction, forests and the environment.
The State Police must establish control over the territory. Albanians must recognize the Police as the guarantor of any violence and crime against the person, property, as well as for crimes in the territoryâ€, stated the Minister among other things.
