International Donors' Conference Raises $ 6.5 billion for Ukraine

The Donors' Conference in Warsaw has raised about $ 6.5 billion to help Ukraine cope with the economic and humanitarian consequences of the Russian occupation. 

The figure was announced by the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki after the end of the Conference. The conference was organized by Poland and Sweden, in cooperation with the Presidents of the European Commission and the European Council. 

Countries like France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Croatia and others pledged millions of euros to support humanitarian and military efforts in Ukraine. The European Commission also promised 200 million euros in assistance to displaced persons in Ukraine. 

Ukraine has received more than $ 12 billion in arms and financial aid since the start of the Russian occupation on February 24, according to the country's prime minister, Denys Shmyhal. 

Meanwhile, Albania donated 1 million euros of assistance to Ukraine at the Donors' Conference. Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his gratitude for the presence of the country in this Conference, although as he said, he is aware of Albania's modest contribution.
