Italian Ambassador Committed to Support Persons with Autism

On the World Autism Awareness Day, Italian Embassy was part of the Project Filippide: a sportive opportunity for all the persons with autism.

All the personalities that participated in the conference had the opportunity to share with each other the ways of raising the awareness of the parties to successfully start this journey.

"Italy has made incredible strides in helping people with autism or other disabilities. This conference proves the ability to preserve, as institutions and as people, these priorities that are the health of the people and the integration of the younger generations. As Ambassador of Italy in Tirana I am committed, in this year and a half in this issue above all.

We are working with President Pintus to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Albanian Health and Social Protection and we will give our full support so that Albanian youth can participate in the next 'RUN FOR AUTISM' and - why not - to realize the next stage of this activity right here in Tirana," said Italian Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci.

Italian Embassy had conducted courses on specific learning problems and Ambassador added that he would be interested in completing a training cycle on autism, in health assistance for children with special pathologies difficult to cure in Albania.

"There is still much to do but we should walk together, on a journey of cooperation, mutual assistance and support. This is certainly an important tool which will increase our commitment and allow us to increase results in the interest of involving people with autism and those with other disabilities and, more generally, of society as a whole," said Ambassador.
