Italian Ambassador Reaffirms Support for Albania in Fight Against Corruption

The Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Fabrizio Bucci, reaffirmed Italy's full support for Albania on its path to EU membership and in its efforts in the fight against corruption.

Bucci participated this Monday in the conference promoted by the Ministry of Justice entitled "Challenges and opportunities in the fight against corruption and in the promotion of integrity".

In his speech, Ambassador Bucci, recalled the already consolidated cooperation between the competent Italian and Albanian authorities in the fight against corruption, drug trafficking and money laundering,

"Corruption is a plague that hinders sustainable economic growth, distorts competition in economic markets, endangers the rule of law and destroys citizens' trust in their institutions.

I encourage Albanian private companies to support the "Playbook on Anti-Corruption Collective Action" launched last month at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders’ Summit. This tool will help companies and civil society protagonists cooperate with public institutions to fight corruption," Bucci stated.
