Italy Handcuffs Albanian Member of Notorious Drug Dealing Gang

Italian authorities have arrested Monday the 36-year-old Albanian Luis Egro, specifically the 6th person in the framework of the "Illyricum" operation, which took place two days ago.

Investigations found that the 36-year-old Albanian was part of a group of drug dealers and was detained in Saluzzo during a routine police check while he was in the car with his family returning to the Aosta Valley.

During the same investigation, he was the detectives before selling 8 grams of cocaine destined for a party organized inside a house in Aosta, thus is accused of possession and trafficking of cocaine.

Earlier on, citizens Angjelin Lleshi, 30 years old, Amarildo Perloshi, 33 years old, Leonard Vishaj, 33 years old and Elton Beleshi, 39 years old, all born in Albania and living in Aosta and Diego Gustavo Corchia, 41 years old, born and living in Aosta, were handcuffed.

Police investigations discovered that Vishaj had the role of courier in the group, while Beleshi was the wholesaler. Lleshi, Corchia and Perloshi were involved in drug processing and benefited from sales about 15.000 Euros per month.

Based on the available information, the Albanians have long been under investigation for narcotics trafficking and the Italian Court has left the 4 Albanians in prison, while Diego Gustavo Corchia, 41, ended up under house arrest.

The investigation began in November 2020 following raids on a garage in downtown Aosta following denunciations made by area residents.
