Italy Neutralizes Albanian Drug Gang, Members Sentenced to Prison

An Italian court has convicted Wednesday six Albanians, who are accused of drug trafficking. The convicts are Ervin Sgura, 24 years old, eight years and eight months in prison; Erist Piku, 30, eight years and six months; Enkel Matraku, 29, six years and six months; Rezart Sula, 31, eight years in prison and Kiodan Hakballa, 24, seven years and six months in prison.

The criminal group was led by Shkëlzen Kasa, 36 years old and operated mainly in the shopping squares between Pisa, Carraras and Parma, where they were staying in Livorno, write the Italian media.

On his part, Kasa was sentenced by the Italian court to 16 years in prison. He owned a restaurant in the Sant'Agostino area, which was raided by police in 2017. In addition, the 36-year-old owned homes, property bought for relatives, businesses and luxury cars.

Nevertheless, the Albanians were spotted by the police, through telephone interceptions, where they were arrested in the Livorno area. After the search, the police seized 44 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, as well as real estate.
