June 2nd Declared National Mourning Day in Honour of Nishani

The government has declared June 2 a day of national mourning in honour of former President Bujar Nishani, who passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Germany where he was being treated for post-Covid effects on his lungs.

As required by law, the national flag will be lowered to half-mast in all state and public institutions.

The state homage ceremony will be organized on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 10:00 to 12:00, at the premises of the Presidency.

The Council of Ministers has also determined that the funeral and ceremonial expenses will be covered by the approved budget for the Prime Minister for 2022.
