Elton Haajnaj Sentenced to 21 Years in Prison for Murder

Court of Vlora has sentenced Wednesday to 21 years in prison, Elton Hajnaj, the perpetrator of the murder of Taulant Beqiraj, as the main perpetrator who pulled the trigger and killed the young man on the trans-Balkan road.

Albaniandailynews.com has learned that for Hajnaj, the court has decided 2 years more than the prosecution had requested on the charge of premeditated murder and "illegal possession of firearms".

Meanwhile, his 2 friends Hans Jonuzaj and Skerdjan Gabrani were sentenced to 6 years in prison each as supporters of the perpetrator.

The serious incident happened on March 3, 2021 on the Trans-Balkan road, in front of the Vlora Court of Appeal.

The victim, son of a former police officer, with a previous criminal record, also known by other surnames like Gjika or Manaj, was walking on the street, while the perpetrator, accompanied by another person, got out of a car with black windows and shot to death.

Present at the execution were three people, one who stayed in the car and the other two who got out.

At the time of the event, the police searched 8 apartments to apprehend two other perpetrators, who were involved in the crime.
