Kosovo’s parliament has approved a new government led by Albin Kurti of the Vetevendosje Movement, securing Kurti’s fourth term as prime minister.

The government won 62 votes in favor, eight against and no abstentions.

Vetevendosje holds 53 seats in parliament, but the new government also received support from nine lawmakers representing non-majority communities — eight from non-Serb minorities and Nenad Rashiq, representing the Serb minority.

Lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Alliance did not take part in the vote. Members of the Serb List attended the session and voted against the government.

The composition of the new cabinet remains unchanged from Kurti’s third government.

Kurti: No New Program Needed

Addressing parliament before the vote, Kurti said he would not present a new government program or agenda, arguing that repeated elections had interrupted the work of his previous administration, which he said would now continue under the new mandate.

Kurti said the Vetevendosje Movement’s priorities would focus on improving citizens’ welfare and protecting families.

“Today, this mandate is about strongly restoring security and well-being to the everyday lives of citizens,” Kurti said.

The prime minister also pledged a series of capital investments, including plans to establish a publicly.
