Sarande, Lawyer Beaten Up with Baseball Bats
A 39-year-old man was injured this Monday afternoon in Saranda. The Police report that the lawyer Mario Mejdi was beaten up with hard objects.
Three unidentified people ambushed a "Mercedes Benz" type vehicle and after breaking the windows, they took the 39-year-old out and beat him with baseball bats.
He was immediately taken to hospital where he is receiving first aid. It is learned that the 39-year-old was a lawyer by profession as the circumstances of the event are still unknown.
As reported, the lawyer has suffered fractures in the forearm, cartilage of one leg and head injuries. In the testimony given to the police officers by the hospital, he says that the cause may have been a conflict between him and several other persons over property issues.
Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting the first investigative actions as well as revealing the motives of the event in question.

At around 13:05, in the neighbourhood No. 4, near the Port, Saranda, it is suspected that as a result of an instant conflict, the citizen M.M., 39 years old, resident in Saranda, was hit with hard objects, who was later sent to get medical assistance, out of danger for life.
Police services immediately went to the scene. An investigative group has been set up which follows the actions at the scene in order to clarify the circumstances of the event, identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Several people were escorted to the premises of the Saranda Police Station to be questioned about the event.
