Lezhë, Two Bar Owners Detained for Hosting Illegal Gambling

Lezha Police has successfully finalized another intervention in the continuation of the operation "Fate of the Games", arresting two citizens for illegal gambling.

During the searches in 2 premises, in the "Skënderbeg" neighbourhood, the police found 5 electronic devices, 6 mobile phones and an amount of money that were used for the illegal activity. As a result, 2 owners of the premises, Idriz Kaloçi, 38, and Meqan Mlika, 27, both residents of Lezha, were handcuffed.

Following the uninterrupted controls in the whole region of Lezha, in implementation of the plan of measures for the identification and legal punishment of the illegal activity of gambling, based on the information received on the operational road, the services of Lezha Police have ascertained in the neighbourhood "Skënderbeg", Lezha, 2 entities (bars) where the illegal activity of gambling was exercised.

The specialists of Economic and Financial Crime made the arrest in flagrante delicto of the administrators of the entities, citizens: Idriz Kaloçi 38 years old and Meqan Mlika, 27 years old, resident in the neighbourhood "Skënderbeg", Lezha.

These citizens have been caught red-handed by the Police services, in the premises of their subjects, exercising the illegal activity of gambling, through mobile applications.

The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of the Lezha Judicial District, for further actions, for the criminal offenses "Organization of illegal lotteries", "Making available premises for illegal games", "Concealment of income" and "Non-payment of taxes".
