Man Arrested on Suspicions for Links With Disappearance of 35-Year-Old in Tirana
Albanian authorities have arrested a man suspected of assisting in the alleged abduction of a 35-year-old resident of Tirana who disappeared without a trace earlier this month, according to information emerging from the ongoing investigation.
Eglant Koçi, 35, was reported missing around midday on June 4 near Wilson Square in Tirana. Family members sought police assistance after Koçi failed to answer repeated phone calls and could no longer be reached.
The Tirana Prosecutor’s Office subsequently launched an investigation into the case amid suspicions that Koçi may have been abducted.
On Monday, authorities arrested Enea Zyferit, who investigators believe may have supported the alleged perpetrator in the suspected kidnapping of Koçi, journalist Klodiana Lala reported.
As part of the investigation, Koçi’s motorcycle — the vehicle he was reportedly using before his disappearance — was discovered two days later on Rruga 5 Maji in Tirana.
The circumstances surrounding Koçi’s disappearance remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details regarding his whereabouts or the identity of any additional suspects.
