During his visit to the United States, Minister of Defence, Niko Peleshi met with the Deputy Chief of the US National Guard Bureau, 3-Star General Marc H. Sasseville.

Mr. Peleshi expressed to General Marc H. Sasseville the readiness to further intensify the cooperation between the countries.

After this meeting, the Minister of Defence said: "An enthusiastic meeting with the Deputy Chief of the US National Guard Bureau, 3-star General Marc H. Sasseville. The current cooperation in the field of modernization, education and training of the military, participation in joint missions, etc., will be further intensified. The ambitious remodelling project of the Armed Forces Academy is already an important object on the US-Albania bilateral cooperation agenda."

Minister Peleshi stressed that based on the special strategic partnership with the United States, Albania will remain the lever to maintain the orientation of the region to the West.
