Much-Wanted Ervis Martinaj's Family Appeals Assets Seizure Decision
Family members of Ervis Martinaj appealed this Tuesday the decision of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), for the seizure of 34 of his assets, and requests their release.
The appeal has been filed in the Appellatte Instance of GJKKO, and it is expected that today the lot will be drawn for the appointment of the judge and date for the review of this request.
A month ago, the assets of Martinaj and his family, worth millions of EUR, were seized by order of the Special Prosecution against Organised Crime and Corruption (SPAK), as they are suspected to have been obtained from criminal activity.
However, the seizure decision came within the framework of the investigations for the "Golden Bullet" operation after the arrest of Nuredin Duman.
Three prosecutors of the case, Altin Dumani, Dolorez Musabelli and Behar Dibra, requested the sequestration of these assets with the argument that they do not justify the source of income, a request which was accepted by GJKKO.
Seized assets consist of company shares, land, property, apartments and cars.
