Minister of Interior Bledi Çuçi has reacted Tuesday after the seizure of a quantity of 11 kg and 650 grams of cocaine in a bananas container in the Port of Durrës, informing that the quantity seized during the last four months has reached about 1 ton.

According to him, nothing is coincidental, but evidence and proof of the uncompromising fight against organized crime, as well as the detective and striking ability of the State Police.

Meanwhile, the Internal Affairs Minister guaranteed that there will be ongoing work on the side of police, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies at home and abroad, to make Albania safer.

"The facts speak for themselves. After today's operation, the amount of cocaine seized in the Port of Durrës during the last four months goes to about 1 ton.

Nothing is accidental, but evidence of the uncompromising fight against organized crime and the detective and striking ability of the State Police.

These operations also demonstrate the high confidence of our international partners in joint, intensive and professional investigations, in cracking down on drug trafficking networks. This is an ongoing war, which does not start or end with an operation.

We will continue working with the State Police and all other law enforcement agencies, inside and outside the country, to make Albania a safer country", communicated Minister Çuçi.
