Nurse Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Money from Dead Patient

The Tirana court sentenced Ronida Hysa, the Infectious Diseases nurse accused of stealing the money of a dead patient from Covid-19, to 5 years in prison. Due to the shortened trial, her sentence was reduced to 4 years and 4 months. 

The Infectious Diseases Hospital nurse was arrested in January 2021. She was reported by the son of a patient who died from the virus. The investigation proved that the young woman had withdrawn almost 60 thousand ALL in various ATMs, through the patient's card.
