Opposition Adheres to June 5 Agreement
The Chairwoman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI), Monika Kryemadhi, commented today on the return of the Electoral Code to the parliament and declared that the opposition will stick to June 5 agreement.
SMI Chair welcomed the position on this issue of the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi. The latter asked the majority to include the opposition in this process and to wait for the final decision by the Venice Commission.
During a press conference, Kryemadhi stated that the opposition's commitment to the Electoral Code has been through involvement in discussions in the Political Council, although difficult due to the arrogance of the majority.
Kryemadhi declared that even if Socialist Taulant Balla were to count the votes of the opposition, he could not change the result in the April 25 elections.
"What I want to emphasize is that we stand by the agreement of 'June 5'. It is the main point that creates guarantees for internationals. Despite the fact that Oliver Varhelyi made a request asking the majority to wait and not become arrogant, this shows the panic and lack of trust that Rama and his group have for the elections of April 25. I welcome the decision of the commissioner and welcome his request," Kryemadhi said.
