Over 100k Albanians Registered in Presevo Valley
Over 100,000 Albanians have registered in the Presevo Valley from October 1st to the 31st.
The head of the Municipal Council of Presevo, Sami Salihu, said that the result has been satisfactory so far, while in Medvegja the process has been postponed for 10 days.
"After a long time, the Presheva Valley has received attention for special problems, this time it is good that it receives attention for something good such as the registration of Albanians. This process lasted for one month, from October 1 to 31. We estimate that the result is satisfactory so far. In Medvegja it has been postponed for 10 days", he said.
Salihu also thanked the residents of Presevo Valley who have had the will to cooperate with the commissioners. However, the data processing will not be done by Albanians, but despite this, the commissioners have access to know how many Albanians are registered.
"I want to thank all the citizens of Lugina who have cooperated with the commissioners with great willingness, who have produced a satisfactory result. Data processing is not done by Albanians. It is done in the town of Leskovack who questioned the result which is in April next year. Registrars have access to know how many Albanians are registered", said Salihu.
Translated into percentages, in Presevo it is about over 95% of the population, over 65% in Bujanovc, while the situation is not the same in Medvegja.
"In the last 4 decades, every attempt at depopularization has started with Medvegja", said Salihu.
He also indicated that Albanians will benefit from the registration, with some important institutions being brought back closer to them.
